Help with Millo
Most questions are answered below.
Millo doesn't open in my browser
Give it half a minute on the first start while it prepares its records, then open http://localhost:3100 yourself. If it still isn't there, start Millo again from its folder: double-click Millo.command. Its log is in the logs folder inside your records folder.
Phones can't reach Millo
Check that the phone is on the same network as the computer running Millo, and that the computer is awake. Use the computer's name with :3100 on the end, or its network address, for example http://192.168.1.20:3100. Settings, then Phones, shows both with a code to scan. On Windows, allow Millo through the firewall on private networks.
Away from the office, Millo Hub has to be on (Settings, then Phones; use Test the address there), the computer running Millo has to be awake, and the phone has to be paired. A phone that says "Pair this phone" needs a new code from the office.
I forgot my PIN
Owner: on the computer that runs Millo, open the Millo folder and double-click Reset owner PIN. Type a new PIN twice. Millo can stay running; you're signed out everywhere and sign in again with the new PIN.
Everyone else: ask the owner. They open Crew, then Sign-in accounts, and choose Reset PIN.
Backups and restoring
Millo backs up your records, files and settings every night to the folder in Settings, then Backups. Choose a folder on a USB drive or network drive so a lost computer doesn't take your backups with it.
To restore, double-click Stop Millo in the Millo folder, move your records folder aside, copy the backup's files into a new records folder, and start Millo. The Backups page lists every step.
Moving Millo to a new computer
Install Millo on the new computer but don't set it up. Copy your latest backup into the records folder on the new computer, then open Millo. Everything, including your sign-ins, comes with it.
The assistant is slow or won't answer
The first request after a restart loads the model, which can take a minute. If every request is slow, open Settings, then Assistant, and choose a smaller model, or use an API key instead. Check that Ollama is running; the Assistant page tells you.
Changing the company name, logo or colours
Settings, then Company. Changes apply to the app straight away and to every document made afterwards.
Adding a crew member
Open Crew, add the person with their trade, wage and start date. Their page opens with Getting them started: create their sign-in with a starting PIN (they choose their own PIN the first time they sign in), then work down the list.
Someone leaves
Open their page and press Moved on. Give their last day and why, and choose whether their sign-in stops now or at the end of that day. Millo takes them off the job crews, passes their open to-dos on, and lists what's left to finish: final pay, the Record of Employment in Ontario, and anything they still have of yours. Their hours and documents stay. If they come back, re-hire them from Crew, then Archived.
A job says Needs attention. Why?
On Home, the Needs attention panel lists the top items; See all opens the full list. Every item says how much money is involved, why, and what to do next. A job needs attention when what's billed and not billed yet comes to more than its contract value, or a budget line is over its estimate.
